Description
The Continental Aero 111 tyre has been specially designed for speed. It features a patented tread incorporating 48 cavities evenly distributed across the surface of the tyre. These innovative cavities act as vortex generators that control the turbulence of the air as it hits the front wheel. These ‘vortex generators’ create controlled turbulence on the front wheel, allowing the airflow to adhere to the rim for longer. The tyre reduces drag and optimises handling, allowing cyclists to move forward with greater control in crosswinds.
Sail effect (forward force) increases at all speeds. Even with lower rim profiles, riders benefit from this effect because the laminar airflow stays on the rim longer and the air resistance of the wheel-tyre system is reduced.
