Fulcrum Wind 42 DB wheels have been designed to offer the optimum balance between performance and comfort. These versatile wheels are not only suitable for road use, but also for light off-road use (ASTM category 2), offering the pleasure of pedalling even off busy roads.

The Wind 42s inherit a number of Fulcrum technologies from the Speed range, the top-of-the-range road wheels in terms of performance, to ensure a superior riding feel to that of the previous generation. The result is a 22% improvement in handling and a 10% improvement in responsiveness on this versatile, comfortable product for modern cyclists.

• New, streamlined graphics

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the new Fulcrum is the height of the rims, which has increased to 42 mm with a 23 mm rim base, while the completely new graphics follow the new Form Function Fulcrum stylistic guidelines, with a clean, sophisticated design that incorporates all the product's technical information thanks to the new iconography.
 
On-board technologies

• 2-Way Fit: The rim profile allows tubeless or clincher tyres to be fitted.
• DRSC (Directionated Rim-Spoke Coupling): Thanks to this simple, efficient system, the front wheel remains stable even during braking of the disc on the left, while the rear wheel, as well as making room for the cassette, has to compensate for the pull of the force on the side of the chain.
• MoMag: A magnet and a lot of genius. Thus was born the patent for the tried-and-tested "Mounting Magnete" system, the MoMag.
• Anti-rotation system: This new system increases spoke performance to a hitherto unknown level. Fulcrum engineers started from scratch to design the spoke/hub interface in such a way as to create a coupling system capable of keeping the spokes in the same position at all times. In this way, the spokes of Fulcrum wheels do not rotate, thus avoiding losing tension during use and compromising the aerodynamic penetration so sought-after.
• AFS Axle System: The Axial Fixing System is the solution developed by Fulcrum to fix the disc brake to the hub. The stress applied by the release mechanism's thrust zone, which is greater than usual, results in greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
• Full-carbon rim technology: Fulcrum's full-carbon rims are built using laboratory-developed combinations of different types of fibre, including unidirectional and the famous 90-degree 3K found on our top-of-the-range models.
• Wide rim technology: taking into account the demands of the competition field, Fulcrum's R&D department has worked to create rims that are 4 mm wider than hitherto. This technical choice provides an ideal support base for 25/28mm tyres, which are the preferred sizes. The result is stability, excellent handling and superior comfort.
• Undrilled rim: The absence of holes in the upper wall means a consistent product at all levels, free from critical stress points.
