Description
The Mavic Cosmic Ultimate Disc wheels offer the best combination of lightness, stiffness and aerodynamics: the ultimate in carbon tubeless road. The carbon rim profile, 45mm high and 27mm wide, is inspired by NACA profiles. Its complex design allows to optimize the stiffness/weight ratio. The outer layer benefits from our special UD² finish. The rim is not drilled: the rim tape is not necessary to ensure the watertightness, which guarantees a great ease of use of the tubeless.
The 20 elliptical carbon fiber spokes and the high and thin flanges provide proven aerodynamic benefits. The spokes are made of unidirectional carbon fiber, they do not stretch. They go from one edge of the rim to the other through the hub (R2R technology), forming a single spoke instead of two: the wheel is thus more rigid, and no longer requires mechanical attachment of the spokes to the hub.
Inside the hubs, the axles are associated with automatically adjusted sealed cartridge bearings for optimal preload. At the rear, the ID360 freewheel system ensures fast engagement (40 engagement points, or 9°) and reduces friction. Hubs are compatible with thru axles (12x100 front, 12x142 rear) and designed to be equipped with Center Lock brake discs.
