Description
The Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR tire takes cycling into a new era. It's 50 grams lighter, 20% faster and has stronger sidewalls than its predecessor to give you improved performance in both efficiency and longevity. The 2/220 TPI carcass under the tread reduces material deflections. In addition, this tire offers 28% more puncture protection with its 3/330 TPI casing, adding an extra protective layer in the sidewall. It also makes the tire more stable in low pressure operation.
This tire has the new standard in Tubeless Ready technology, allowing you to install it on rims without hooks, but with a pressure limit of 5 bar.
This tire features Lazer Grip tread, a laser-micro-profiled structure that extends across the shoulder of the tire and provides exceptional cornering. It is composed of a BlackChili tread compound, which combines synthetic rubbers with natural ones to deliver top performance. The GP 5000 S TR is also equipped with Vectran, a high-tech fiber, which, like spider silk, is very resistant to tearing while being very light. Exactly the right properties for use as a puncture protection insert in a tire.
