Description
The Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate 25 wheels have been designed for Olympic athletes. Dedicated to Cross-Country, they offer dynamism, lightness, stiffness and speed with one goal in mind: winning gold. Weighing only 1340g, this wheelset uses a 29" full carbon rim (340g), allowing for fast acceleration and climbing without compromising stiffness and durability.
The Crossmax SL Ultimate 25 wheelset features a specific carbon structure: the Adaptive Lay Up technology, which allows to build carbon rims using less material between the spokes. The spoke holes are reinforced with strategically placed layers of carbon, which reduces weight without compromising stiffness and strength. Extensive testing with professional cyclists has allowed Mavic to determine the most suitable internal width for precise and fast riding on fast racing tracks: 25mm. The wider rim increases the grip of the tyre and allows to gain confidence and control on difficult single tracks.
The rim is equipped with 24 straight, double-cut spokes for optimal power transfer and vertical flexibility. The new, lighter Infinity hub platform optimises lateral stiffness. The Instant Drive 360 freewheel body with its double ratchet system ensures fast engagement for more efficient acceleration out of corners. The rear hub is compatible with HG9, Micro Spline and SRAM XD freewheel bodies.
