The Giro Tyrant MIPS helmet has been designed to meet the requirements of Enduro or BMX enthusiasts. As comfortable on single tracks as on dirt jumps, this helmet paves the way for the modern era of mountain biking. In addition to its inimitable syle, Tyrant features many technologies to offer you comfort and performance for each of your wrinkles. It is equipped with wind tunnel ventilation and MIPS Spherical technology, using two layers of foams of different densities bonded together by elastomeric fasteners. In the event of side impacts, they can move independently of each other. One of the layers is EPS, which is well suited for high-speed collisions. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics to treat low speed falls.
In addition, this helmet has an In-Mold design, namely an outer shell in polycarbonate lined with EPS and EPP, very robust, thanks in particular to the Progressive Layering combination of EPS foam and its EPP counterpart.
In addition, the Roc Loc Air DH adjustment system ensures a perfect fit of the helmet. For optimal comfort, the Tyrant MIPS has 14 ventilation tunnels, including channels at the front to evacuate excess heat and eliminate fogging on the mask more easily. This helmet is also equipped with hydrophilic foams that can absorb up to 10 times their weight in water for better transpiration evacuation.
