The Garmin Edge Explore 2 GPS computer is designed for off-road, mountain biking, road and gravel adventures. It will help you find your way around like a local with enhanced maps highlighting popular roads and trails, heavy traffic areas to avoid and a point of interest search function. Alerts will warn you of upcoming changes in direction.
Edge Explore 2 will also allow you to rejoin your route after you've decided to take a diversion on your way. The ClimbPro feature will tell you how far you have to climb and how steep the slope is, so you can adjust your effort accordingly. The GPS is compatible with Shimano Steps and ANT Plus technology, which is used on some electric bikes. You'll even get smart routing and range alerts based on battery status, available assist level and your planned route.
You'll be able to pair Edge Explore 2 with Varia rear lights and radar. It also detects incidents and automatically sends a message with your location to pre-loaded emergency contacts. The PIN-protected bike alarm sends a notification to your paired smartphone if your bike is moved while you're out hydrating or refueling. The bike computer is also compatible with home trainers, automatically configuring itself and allowing you to keep an eye on your fellow riders, even if you lose sight of them, knowing that they too will be able to track your position, thanks to the Grouptrack feature. Pair your device with your smartphone and stay in touch with your fellow travellers even when you get separated from the group. Group messaging is available to cyclists using compatible Garmin devices, and only cyclists using these devices can receive messages.
